Just a heads up…next week I’m heading to Columbus, OH for Tiny Canary Indie Design Market. I’ve done the show for 3 years now and am always willing to venture back for it.

If you’re in Columbus next weekend please come say hello, I love meeting customers!
Lately I’ve been on the worst best chocolate kick. Mr. Metropolis brought me home some lindens chocolate last night and Im sorry to say I devoured them far too quickly.
I love to bake but don’t do it much simply because…well…the problem with living with someone is that there will always be another person who knows how much cake you’ve eaten.
I’ve been collecting recipes lately and I stumbled upon these two. I love them so much that I combined them into an unholy marriage of chocolatey goodness. Allow me to bestow it upon you. I give to you a little chocolate cake in a cup with homemade hersheys syrup for icing. I call it “Our Little Secret”
Cake:
Ingredients:
* 2 T flour
* 1.5 T sugar
* 1/2 tsp baking powder
* 1 T unsweetened cocoa powder
* A pinch of salt
* 2 T milk
* 1/2 tsp vanilla
* 1 tsp oil
Directions:
* Mix all of the ingredients together in a cereal bowl.
* Scrape batter into a mug sprayed with cooking spray.
* Microwave on full power for 1 minute.
Syrup (will make way more syrup than necessary…unless you use it all. Don’t worry, I won’t tell)
Ingredients:
* 1/2 C packed cocoa powder
* 1 C water
* 2 C sugar
* 1/8 tsp salt
* 1/4 tsp vanilla
Directions
* Whisk cocoa powder and water together thoroughly in a large saucepan.
* Heat and whisk to dissolve the cocoa.
* Add the sugar and stir/whisk to dissolve. Be sure the sugar has dissolved before continuing on, so your syrup is not grainy.
* Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Be sure to watch this VERY carefully. Mine has a tendency to want to boil over immediately, so I have to continuously take it on and off of the burner.
* Remove from heat and stir in salt and vanilla extract.
* Let cool completely and skim off any skin that may have formed.
Destroy all evidence and wash cooking tools quickly. They’ll never know…

Sea Mud…of Death! is our most luxurious soap. It’s made with clay from the Dead Sea which has oodles of skin-loving minerals in it. So what makes it so exclusive? We can only make 2 batches of it a month!
Sea Mud…of Death! contains jasmine-infused olive oil, which we make in house.
A lot of companies “cook” their infusions for up to 12 hours to create the infusion. We prefer to let the buds sit in the oil for 3 weeks and allow the jasmine properties to marry with the oil. The product is a blend of nourishing olive oil combined with the beautifying properties of Jasmine.
Most of our vegan artisan soaps are made every week to keep stock up but due to the long waiting period for the Jasmine oil we can only do up to 2 batches a month of the Sea Mud…of Death! soap. If you’re looking to purchase it, don’t wait…it could be another month before it’s back in stock!

Mr. Metropolis has to work today so we celebrated Halloween last night and had a great time. I’ve been whining for week how I wanted to go to Central Park to see the leaves change and we finally got around to going before they all fell off. It was glorious.
Mr. Metropolis wore his Skullface mask and costume and was a great hit, especially with kids. Lots of kids asked for lots of pictures…we said that we should have put out a collection hat and made some money off of it! Ha, oh well. We ran around in Central Park being creepy…I went as a “shiny object” but it mostly consisted of lots of glitter on my face. Wasn’t a very good costume…so I just became Mr. Skullface’s Handler….though I prefer to say I was the Lydia to his Beetlegeuse.
We then went to see a Pink Floyd tribute band called The Machine. If you know Pink Floyd then you’ve probably heard them! The show was really great although BB King’s is an awkward venue for a live show. Oh well, it was still fun. We got home around 2am and crashed. We’re cool like that.

Recently I received some rosehip oil to test and I realized that perhaps soap wasn’t the best option for it. For those who don’t know (I didn’t!), Rosehip oil is high in fatty acids and it great for:
- mature skin
- dry skin
- scars and burns
- stretch marks (!!!!)
So now I’ve got it in the freezer till I figure out what to do with it. What would you be interested in?
I haven’t hosted a giveaway in a looooooong time, and I have no idea why. I secretly love doing these.
So….Win one of Metropolis’ five perfume blends of your choice!

Deets: All you’ve got to do is reply to this post and tell me which blend you would pick and where you’d wear it!
BONUS! Blog about this giveaway and leave a comment with the URL and you’ll receive TWO entries!
Contest ends November 3rd at Noon, EST. Good luck!
